Work placement is a mandatory component of thirteen industry-based vocational education and training (VET) courses that students can choose as part of their studies for the NSW Higher School Certificate.
Youth Express coordinate work placements for approximately 2000 students from 26 high schools in the Hunter Valley each year.
Youth Express coordinates a variety of career and transition events to link business and industry with young people and schools. Events include ‘Career Quests’, Work Inspiration worksite tours, and student work preparation sessions.
Over 10,000 young people are currently participating in courses that will help them get a trade or other job in metals, automotive, construction, electrical, retail, IT, hospitality and primary industry.
